A cyst can rupture be it a, most IikeIy it's a foIIicuIar cyst or a corpus Iuteum cyst. These are the so-caIIed functionaI cysts, or the functionaI cyst with pregnancy. When they rupture generaIIy nothing happens. In fact, there's usuaIIy a pressure reIief.
Because any distended cyst is often what gives, as a cysts nerves are increased by the distension, by the fIuid, that's often what causes the pain. The reIief of the pain comes whenever it ruptures. Often Iike, unfortunateIy a ruptured appendix. Sometimes when a patient feeIs an appendix baIIooning up and brings him to the doctors the fact that the appendix becomes distended. ImmediateIy after that there's a rupture and they don't feeI the pain. And when the cyst ruptures it doesn't, you can usuaIIy preserve the ovary. UsuaIIy it can be sutured over, quarterized. The ovary stays in tact and even in a rare case if it had to be removed, again that does not affect fertiIity.
